A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I grew up in Northern Virginia on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. Born and raised here, except for about five years collectively living in other states during my lifetime, I have always been a die hard Virginian. Lots of neat history.
As a youth, I remember my mother always sitting at a sewing machine or stitching something by hand. She handmade clothes mostly for me and my sister, and I especially looked forward to a new Easter dress every year. It was definitely one of a kind and beautiful in every loving way. Our family wasn’t poor and we never did without, but with five children, making ends meet sometimes became a challenge, to say the least. My sweet mother, being the innovative and creative gal that she was, started her own small business, making alterations to women’s clothing, and hemming men’s trousers. What started out as a side hustle, soon became a fulltime in-home business that expanded to furniture slipcovers and accent pillow covers. Actually, making a pillow cover was my first ever sewing project. So, it’s safe to say that my mother had a huge influence on my creativity and designers eye. She would be very proud of me.
So, my goal is to bring life to your indoor spaces with my one of a kind designs, hoping to freshen up that one room that needs just a little pizzazz.
